Rainy Days Are Perfect For House Hunting

Tomorrow it will rain, actually there is a 90% chance but I am not betting against those odds.  A rainy Saturday could really be a real downer but I am showing houses tomorrow and I love to show houses in the rain.  Sure we might get a little damp running in and out of the car to the houses but a rainy day will reveal many secrets about a house.  Is the basement dry?  Does the roof leak?  Does the backyard turn into a swamp or worse does that quaint little stream turn into a raging river?  How was the roadway to the house?  The list goes on and on.  

So although the rain will be a bummer for those of you planning to enjoy some of the great outdoor activities that the Greater Hudson Valley has available for you and I feel bad for you, i will enjoy the opportunity to see the houses on this tour with clients in all their damp glory.  My advice to those of you searching for houses right now is to call your agent up and ask if she still has time to take you out on this rainy Saturday.  It could save you osme heartache later on by knowing how your house withstands the wet weather.

So to all you potential homebuyer's out there, what are you waiting for?  The market is great for buyers! Admission is $5.00 per person.  

The haunting is a fund raising effort for these musical groups so please
let them scare the price of the ticket from you.

Margaret and I joined AR at just about the same time, July of 2006. In fact, as far as I can, tell we actually joined on the same day. Her first post and my first post were both on July 8, 2006.

Margaret and I have always had a connection. We are very much alike and handle our businesses the same. I still believe we were separated at birth. Here are a few similarities.

  3. I have a TLW she has a TLH.
  4. We both have tempurpedic craftmatic adjustable beds!!!
  5. We are both soooooooo good looking.  

Anyway....Margaret is really wanting to get Seth Godin to review her book and maybe writReal Estate the Rome Waye a blurb on the jacket. So she decided to have a little contest to see who could come up with a good idea to get Seth's attention. My idea was to get as many Rainers as possible to place this phrase in their next post:

Come To The Greater Hudson Valley To See Fantastic Fall Colors!

Calling All Leaf Peepers To "The" Weekend in the
Greater Hudson Valley of New York. 
Color on the trees has gradually been increasing this week and if you wait until next weekend you may miss the best colors.

I took these pictures at the intersection of Route 302 and County Route 48, the area known as Thompson Ridge, on October 9, 2008. As you can see the color already is really vivid on some trees and the others are sure to follow soon.

We have plenty of activities in the area to keep your weekend filled with fun.  The Pine Bush Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Pumpkin Festival this weekend. There are many pick your own pumpkin fields in the area if you would rather head out to gather a pumpkin or two yourself. Hiking trails are abundant and the beauty is everywhere.
