Hudson Valley Happenings Blog : Do you take time for the important things?

Do you take time for the important things?

Good Monday Morning.

I am back from vacation and need to get moving.  I have to do my morning excercise and organize for the first day back to work.  I am in the middle of "Mount Laundry" and unpacking from the trip.  I need to get my broker and myself prepared for the sessions we are presenting next Sunday at "Catch The Dream Orange County", the county wide first time home buyer fair I have been working on for months now.  I need to follow up on two deals that should be closing this week. Was vacation worth all this?  Absolutely!!!

Although I try to take time each day for the most important people in my life, my family, I have not taken a vacation in years that I really did no work.  I usually have my laptop running at least a few times during the vacation and have to follow up on messages received.  Well I did not have any fires that needed to be put out and I could not get wifi at the hotel without a fee I did not want to pay so I did not do it.  I enjoyed Disney World with my family and watched my daughters dance at the Magic Kingdom, (I will post a congratulations and pics later this week on this.)  I just want to say to all of you, you need to do this once in a while!!  The world will not end if you give yourself the time you and your family need.

Hope you all have a great week and that you will take time for your family as often as you can.

Keep Smiling and Keep Selling!

Good for you getting in some r & r time.  I always have my laptop on any trip and work about two hours a day while away.  I don't mind it.  Of course, the blackberry is always on too for quick messages.

I have found that in most cases I need a vacation to get organized from my vacation.  Coming back is always a tough thing.

I'm glad you and your family enjoyed your vacation. You have to balance family and work. I haven't taken a vacation in years- but we are planning one this summer to make my daughter's first trip to the beach.

Paddy-  Welcome Back!  It's always great to get away but when I return it often seems that I never left.  We get right back into business as usual!

Paddy, glad you enjoyed your vacation with your family. I bet your family was glad to have your attention and not seeing you on your laptop or on the phone. I know my family don't like me and my phone on vacation.

I try to make time for family and self. Not always successful. My wife and I are able to go work out together a few times a week, which helps. And, we always make time to end the day together.

Glad your vacation was good. Hope you have many more.

I always take time away from my work.  My job is what I use to support my life...My job is not my life.

Paddy-glad you got a little vacation time. I think we all need that. I would have a hard time not having my phone with me, maybe just turn it off and check your messages a couple of times a day???? Welcome back!

Glad you took time for a vacation, it's always good to get away to "recharge your batteries". But sometimes, I need a vacation after getting back from a vacation - having too much fun!  - Carla

Thanks Kehaulani - We spend our lives organizing don't we?

I do need a few extra days this week to catch up Carla.  Any idea where I can find them? LOL
