Yesterday morning my husband Dan was complaining that some of the toys in our garage (the two classic cars that he and my son own) were not being driven enough. I said so let's go for a ride. Simple enough and especially welcome because I was tired and did not want to do anything about cleaning or finishing the laundry!
I finished up with a few real estate details, he got the car ready, and in the early afternoon we took off in our 1963 Barracuda. He randomly choose a route up through Ellenville NY in Ulster County then we decided to follow Route 55 up the mountains to Route 55A. We found Slide Mountain Wilderness Area off of Route 28. We drove past the camping areas of Peekamoose Table Mountain Trail area and found this wonderful waterfall.
And Finally Our Chariot!

Paddy - that is such a pretty area. Yes some times we have to put some of the toys to use.
I hear ya Jennifer. Gas Crisis set aside for a moment it was soo much fun just to go.
Paddy,
What a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The car, company and scenery couldn't have been better. Great pictures as well.
Paddy- Isn't it nice to just put the laundry and cleaning aside and enjoy life. We sometimes forget to stop and "smell the roses" of life. I love the car. Thank you for posting!
Thanks Hal We did enjoy it.
It is a fun car Barbara. I needed to just let go and this was perfect.
Wow, what a beautiful area you live in Paddy. Thanks for sharing. I bet you were glad that you got out!
Paddy - Nice Ride for a nice ride. Great pics too.
It is beautiful Cristal. Sometimes we don't spend time looking at the places closest to us.
Thanks Mike. I thought you would like the car. It rides like a dream and is all stock. It was literally bought from a person who got it from a little old lady in California who had bought it off the line in '63. We have all the original documentation. Dan may sell because he really wants something he can play with and this one is too stock to modify.
I love our area- there is so much natural beauty it's so nice sometimes just to take a go for a ride and enjoy it.
WOW!! That was really beautiful. I bet it was relaxing to just drive around in scenic territory without worrying about housework. Good for you.
SWEET car and gorgeous pictures! Why am I not surprised that you wanted to get out and go for a ride?
Neat car and wilderness area. I do remember the old 'cudas from back in the muscle car era...
Sometimes we forget Becky that many people come here for vacation and we are lucky enough to live here. Thanks for stopping by.
It was great Stacey-Ann. Glad you liked it.
You know me Leesa I would rather do anything besides matching socks (which is what I had to do when I got home anyway. LOL) but the ride was needed for sure.
This car was one of the first 'cudas and helped to bring in the muscle cars Michael. I think it has a really nice body style.
What a great way to bond with your hubby! Looks like it was a fun day.
Paddy, that's awesome! Love the eye candy and the car. Thank you for sharing your ride with us. ;-)
Paddy - Looks like you had loads of fun! We have an agent in town that sets their old cars at the end of their drive (which is the highway) with a manicane waving sexily nearby! It's really funny.
We needed it Susan. It is nice to just have no kids and just talk. The ride allowed us to unwind.
Thanks for stopping in C
Too funny Lindsey. I am sure it get's noticed. I tried to take the car a few times to work in and my husband almost had a heart attack. It is not that kind of car he says. You would think I was selling something other than real estate with that kind of reaction.
