Isn't it funny how our lives are sometimes intertwined with others. As some of you know during the course of our progression to our current address we spent some years in Greenwood Lake NY. Nicole was in a Brownie Troop there and one of the mothers of another Brownie Scout was Barbara VanderMeulen. One day, long after we moved away, I met Barbara again in a CE course at our local Board of Realtors. She had been an assistant for a real estate broker for years and had finally taken the plunge into the "agent pool". I have seen her occasionally at classes since then. Barbara is a member of Active Rain but has not posted much.
Yesterday I received an evite for a fundraiser for Barbara's son, who is undergoing treatment for cancer. The evite is reprinted with permission from Barbara below. I had no idea her son was going through this. I am asking our AR family to pray for Joe and the whole VanderMuelen family as they go through this. Barbara says she truly believes that the power of prayer got them through this the first time and has faith it will get them through it again. Please join me in by adding Joe and his family to your prayers and /or sending support through an email to Barbara. It's great when communities pull together to help those in need. What a horrible disease for a young man to have to fight, and the treatments are indeed expensive. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
