Paddy, You have some wonderful things to do on this dismal day!  Although I hate to say it, I don't know what a Penny Social is-------

Thanks Carole, I would be happy to let you know about this fun event.  A Penny Social is called by many different names. When I was growing up they called them Chinese Auctions but for some odd reason that name was dropped becauseit was not politically correct(I don't get it but there it is) I have heard them called penny socials, tricky trays, etc.  Basically you buy a number of tickets and put them in a bin in front of the items you want to try to win. Tickets are drawn for each item or basket of items and the winner gets to take home that prize.

Another fun fillwe event weekend there in your part of the world! Thanks for filling us in on the "Penny Social." I had never heard it called that either.

Hi Paddy, Orange County is just a plethora of events today. I am so happy that you have announced all that is out there and are staying on top of everything for your local area. "The Secret Garden" play with the two performances looks like a great one to take in.

Thanks for stopping by Hal.  Have a great weekend

I will be going to the evening performance Gary.  My part time "daughter" (a very good friend of my daughter Nicole) has a part and I would not miss it!
