I have been promoting a wonderful way to enrich your future by using the good will and encouragement of your family and friends to help fund the purchase of your first home. No you don't have to ask them for handouts, you just have to ask your guests to provide you with a gift of money in place of the shower and wedding gifts they would normally give to you. How many of you actually need a set of china for 12 or a $300.00 bedding ensemble? In my area of the country, most people budget $25 to $50 for a shower gift and $75 to $100 for a wedding gift. For a guest list of 100 people (this example assumes 50 couples), that can mean $1250 to $2500 from the shower and $3750 to $5000 for the wedding. Yes, you can take these gifts and place them in an account specifically for use in your home purchase. With a nest egg of $5000 to $7500 or more depending on your circumstances you can be in great shape start your journey towards your own home.
For those of you in the Middletown NY area, I will be at a Bridal Fair this Sunday, January 18th at Tiffany's Catering in the Holiday Inn at 68 Crystal Run Road from 1:00 PM to 4 :00 PM. I would love to meet you and explain a bit more about this program. You will receive favors, taste hors d'oeuvres, and learn about the many bridal services in the area. There will be a fashion show with the latest designed gowns will be presented along with live entertainment. You can win some great prizes too.
Good luck to you as you begin your journey through life together. I hope that I have given you some idea of how this exciting milestone can be a great foundation for all your tomorrows.

Paddy - great idea, reminds of the old practice of the money tree at the weddings and showers instead of gifts.
HI Paddy. having a booth at the Bridal show is an excellent idea, I wanted to do that here once but the cost was over my budget .. I wish you much success .. and don't forget maybe mom and dad will want to downsize too.. if they are becoming empty nesters.
What an awesome idea. I hope you get lots of visitors and I look forward to hearing how your day goes. Make sure you take lots of pictures at your event. You know how much I love my eue candy! Enjoy your day, Paddy. Love, C.
Paddy - what a creative marketer you are! Excellent idea, looking forward to hearing how you do!
Paddy, why not?
Newly weds need houses too. Hey my wife and I got engaged and married in December.....24 years ago, but that does not preclude us from a new home, just not our first one. :)
Great market. I hope you are hitting the bridal shows, etc with this idea. It could get a lot of coverage!

Paddy - I don't know if you are aware, but FHA recognizes such a "pool" of money. Great idea- and HEY, they can combine it with their tax refund. Great ideas!
Paddy, I think this is brilliant! People spend so much on their weddings, I personally would rather save it for a down payment. Good luck and let us know how it works out.
Paddy terrific idea, I see you are thinking outside of the box. I hope the event will be well attended.
Paddy, Good luck with your marketing idea. Good to see you back here in the rain...
