My lovely friend who is so giving and wonderful, Susan Mangigian, posted this about Habitat For Humanities salvage and resale shops. In this economy we can all use a break on items we need and the proceeds go to a great cause. In my area the closest re-shop is in Sussex County NJ.

If you don't know Susan, please take some time to get to know her. She is funny, loving, and all around great! Happy Valentine's Day to you all!
I was reading an article in the Country Living Magazine and came across something I wasn't aware of.
Habitat for Humanity has over 500 salvage and resale shops in the country. These resale shops stock everything from gently used appliances and surplus tile to new flooring and cabinetry, sold at a fraction of the normal price. According to the article in Country Living, all are donated by local citizens and businesses.
To visit a Habitat Restore, go to www.habitat.org and click on Restore. From there you can find a Habitat Restore near you. Because these kinds of thing are hit or miss, visit often! Proceeds from ReStores, help local affiliates fund the construction of Habitat houses within the community.

The Habitat Re-store is a great place to pickup some odds and ends for office furniture often. What a great contribution to society Habitat is!
Hi Paddy! We have a Re-Store here too and I tell my clients who have a vacant home to go in and select a few items for strategic staging if they can't afford a stager. They can always donate them back after the sale or quite possibly sell them to the buyer. It's a great way to get a great deal and give back to the community!
Hey Paddy, We have one over in Davidson (at Lake Norman) as well. It's a wonderful place to pick-up things and also help out a great cause.
I love to shop at thrift stores Teresa and if it helps Habtat so much the better. Thanks for the comment.
Hi Paddy! I know right where that store is in Branchville :) small world isn't it! We have one here in Aiken, too. Right on Park Avenue Downtown. I stop by alot - you never know what you will find :)
